Eileen M. Crowley
Eileen Crowley practices in the areas of general civil litigation and currently focuses her practice on environmental, real estate, personal injury and transportation related litigation.
Ms. Crowley has more than thirty years of trial experience on both the federal and state court levels. She is admitted to practice before the trial and appellate courts in the state of Georgia and the state of Florida, as well as the Third and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Ms. Crowley's practice has centered on defense of corporations in three main areas: (1) general litigation, including product liability, and other personal injury and property damage claims; (2) superfund and state superfund claims, including contribution and cost recovery; and (3) toxic tort claims, both arising from environmental contamination and from product liability claims. She has defended multiple carpet companies in nationwide class action litigation based on carpet emission claims; prosecuted and defended claims for contamination resulting from operations as varied as aluminum finishing, battery recycling, wood preservation, lead smelting, electro-plating and insecticide formulation. Ms. Crowley regularly assists clients in negotiating with federal, state and local regulators. She has tried numerous jury cases involving product recalls, trespass, nuisance, eminent domain, personal injuries, wiretapping, and myriad other tort and contract claims.
Ms. Crowley is a Master in The Bleckley Inn of Court, and has previously served as a faculty member for the Workshop for United States Magistrate Judges for the 4th, 5th, 11th and D.C. Circuits and as a faculty member of the Emory University Trial Techniques Program. She was a law clerk on the Court of Appeals for the state of Georgia from 1975 to 1976. She is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar Associations, and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She presently serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. She is a past president of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (1982-1983) and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers (1982-1984). She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute; the Lawyers Club of Atlanta; and the Order of the Barristers.
Ms. Crowley earned her A.B. in 1972 from Barnard College, Columbia University and her J.D. in 1975 from Emory University.
